Dynamo is committed to raising funds and awareness for both local charities and those further afield.

We have an active social committee that meets regularly throughout the year to organise a wide range of fun activities and fundraising events.

These include everything from bake sales and dressing-up days in the office to physically-demanding challenges across the UK that really push us to our limits! Previous years have seen us running half marathons, tackling the Three Peaks Challenge and walking 50km along the rugged Jurassic Coast in a day!

In 2023 we are pleased to be supporting two local charities.

Shooting Star Children's Hospices

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices support children with life-limiting conditions and their families living across Surrey and west London. Its care is available from diagnosis and includes practical support, therapies, respite, family groups and events, use of its hospice facilities and much more.

YMCA DownsLink Group

YMCA DownsLink Group houses around 30 young people each night within supported accommodation in Guildford. They help young people in housing crisis by providing a safe and supportive place to live. The ultimate aim is to find training, education or employment as well as helping them move towards living independently.

Thames Bridges Trek (September 2023)

A team of intrepid hikers from Dynamo are taking on the Thames Bridges Trek on September 9th to raise funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Setting out from Putney Bridge and heading East towards the City, the team will walk 25km, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges before reaching Tower Bridge and the finish line at Southwark Park. We’re raising funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, so do support us if you're able by donating via the link below.

Inflatable 5K (May 2023)

On Sunday 7th May a team from Dynamo took part in Guildford's Inflatable 5K. The course involved navigating 30 inflatable obstacles over the 5 kilometre distance, ducking, crawling, climbing and sliding your way to the finish line. Definitely a fun way to start a Sunday morning and all in support of Shooting Star Children's Hospices. Well done to everyone who took part!

Exercise bike challenge (February 2023)

February saw us donning our lycra and hopping on to an exercise bike to see how far we could collectively pedal over the course of one week! Two bikes were stationed in the office and we took turns to take to the saddle to raise funds for YMCA Downslink Group. A lot of fun was had and quite a few calories burnt along the way as well! We were delighted to have visitors to the office joining in with the challenge, including representatives from YMCA. To date we've raised a fantastic £2,155 for the charity.

Exercise bike challenge update (April 2023)

It was a privilege to be invited to visit two of our local YMCA foyers at Guildford and Crawley to see the amazing work that is being done by YMCA DownsLink Group. Our cycling challenge raised a grand total of £3,067.50 for the charity which has provided sponsorship of two rooms for a year. We received a very warm welcome from the YMCA team and are grateful for the time they took out of their day to tell us more about their important work.
